Volunteers are the heart of Encuentro. By giving your time and skills, you help us expand our reach and deepen our impact. We welcome passionate, dedicated individuals who want to stand alongside immigrant families and strengthen our community. Some volunteer opportunities can be done remotely. Volunteer Opportunities:
- Board of Directors / Committees: Guide our mission and provide leadership through board service or ad hoc committees.
- Language Partner / Classroom Aide: Practice English or digital skills with students and support instructors in class.
- Citizenship Tutor: Help students prepare for their naturalization interview and civics exam.
- Special Event Support: Bring our celebrations and fundraisers to life by supporting logistics and hospitality.
- Front Desk / Administrative Help: Assist staff with day-to-day tasks and provide a welcoming presence at Encuentro.
- Building & Grounds Maintenance: Lend a hand in keeping our campus safe, welcoming, and beautiful.

They are a wonderful way to stand in solidarity with the immigrant justice community, to support Encuentro's work, meet our students and staff, and celebrate our collective power. Tree of Life Honoree Luncheon:
Each spring, over 300 guests gather to recognize champions of the Latinx immigrant community and propel our collective missions forward.
Friendsgiving:
Each fall, we host a festive celebration inspired by the Day of the Dead and Thanksgiving, featuring live music, traditional foods, and activities for the whole family.
Host A House Party:
This year we bring the celebration to the homes of Encuentro's allies like you. Intimate gatherings that bring funds and hope to the families we serve.

La Plaza de Encuentro Gathering Place is a social and economic justice organization whose mission is to transform New Mexico into a thriving community for all of its residents.
