Our Mission
Our mission is to transform New Mexico into a thriving community for all of its residents. We do this by engaging with Latinx immigrant families in educational and career development opportunities that build skills for economic and social justice.
A Place of Discovery and Belonging
The Spanish word Encuentro means both “a coming together” and “a discovery.” For immigrant families in New Mexico, it reflects who we are: a welcoming community where community connects and supports one another to uncover new possibilities for themselves and their families.
Our Community
Our students are resilient adult English learners returning to school, many as working parents balancing children, and multiple low-wage jobs.
Despite their economic contributions, immigrants face barriers that limit access to support resources and increase workplace exploitation. For our community, education is a pathway to dignity, stability, and a better future.
Behind every program is a team deeply connected to the community we serve. Our educators, navigators, staff, and board leaders bring lived experience, cultural understanding, and an unwavering commitment to immigrant families.
