Amplifying voices,
Shaping Narratives
Tu Voz Digital: Community Journalism at Encuentro
Your voice has power. In today’s challenging political climate, it’s more important than ever for our community to share our stories—in our own words.

Tu Voz Digital (TVD), Encuentro’s community journalism initiative, not only empowers immigrant adults to become storytellers but also cultivates their leadership as communicators and advocates. Through TVD, participants develop the skills and confidence to lead conversations, influence public opinion, and ensure that our community is seen and heard authentically.
By growing as both storytellers and leaders, TVD members amplify our collective voice, driving change and strengthening the fabric of our community.

Why Community Journalism Matters
Negative narratives too often define us. When we raise our voices, we challenge those narratives and highlight the real issues impacting our community—from local news and legislative updates to healthcare and immigration. Through journalism, we build community power, increase civic engagement, and create a more just and equitable New Mexico for all.

As a community journalist, I understand how crucial it is for us to share our own stories—especially in today's challenging political climate. When I raise my voice, I ensure that my community is seen and heard authentically, which challenges the negative narratives that too often define us.
